1. Our Service

TrekMeet is a platform designed to help you discover outdoor events, connect with fellow enthusiasts, and organise your own adventures. We provide the tools for connection; the adventure itself is yours to create.

2. Your Account

You are responsible for safeguarding your account and for all activities that occur under it. When you create your profile, you agree to provide information that is accurate and complete. You must be at least 16 years old to create a profile and use TrekMeet.

3. Community Conduct & Content

TrekMeet is a community built on respect, safety, and a shared love for the outdoors. By using our Service, you agree not to:

• Post any content that is unlawful, abusive, harassing, defamatory, or obscene.
• Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with a person or entity.
• Use the platform for commercial solicitation without our prior consent.
• Share private information about another person without their permission.
• Organise or participate in any activity that is knowingly unsafe or violates local laws and regulations.

We reserve the right to remove any content or terminate any account that violates these community standards.

‘Community standards’ in these Terms means the TrekMeet Community Guidelines published at trekmeet.com/community-guidelines, as updated from time to time. New groups may be reviewed against the Community Guidelines before they become visible to other members.

4. Safety and Assumption of Risk

This is crucial. Outdoor activities, including but not limited to hiking, trail running, and camping, carry inherent risks of injury, illness, property damage, and even death.

• You are responsible for your own safety. You are responsible for researching your destination, understanding the risks, bringing the appropriate gear, and assessing your own physical ability to participate safely.
• Organisers are independent. Event organisers are not employees or agents of TrekMeet. They are members of the community, just like you.
• TrekMeet does not monitor treks and does not dispatch emergency services. SOS places calls and shares links from your phone. In an emergency, call 000.

By using TrekMeet, you acknowledge these risks and agree that you are voluntarily participating in these activities. To the maximum extent permitted by law, you release TrekMeet from claims, liabilities, and losses arising from your participation in any event organised through the Service by other members.

5. Content Ownership and License

You own your content. You retain all rights to the photos, comments, and other content you post on TrekMeet.

You grant us a license. By posting content, you grant TrekMeet a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, host, display, and distribute your content as necessary to operate and promote the Service. This allows us, for example, to show your profile picture or display your event photos within the app.

6. Payments and Subscriptions

Free and Explorer. TrekMeet’s Free plan remains available, and Explorer is optional. When purchasing is available, Explorer provides the personal planning and recording tools described before purchase for A$49 a year, including GST. The annual price is charged upfront. There is no monthly option or free trial, and subscriptions renew annually unless cancelled. You must be 18 or over to buy a subscription.

First-year price. Eligible purchases from 8 November to 31 December 2026 cost A$35, including GST, for the first year, then A$49 a year on renewal. Your purchased year is honoured, with no extra January charge. The introductory price is available once under the relevant store’s eligibility rules. Returning after using it does not entitle you to a second introductory price. You cannot buy Explorer while launch promotional access is active, and that access does not reserve or extend the A$35 offer.

Payment and the stores. Apple or Google takes payment through your store account, while TrekMeet provides Explorer and support. Apple acts as our agent for App Store purchases. For purchases through Google Play, TrekMeet Pty Ltd is the seller. The purchase screen shows the charge, subscription term and renewal price before you confirm. For TrekMeet downloaded through the App Store, Apple’s Standard End User Licence Agreement also applies; these Terms supplement it without limiting your Australian consumer rights.

Price changes. Future renewal prices may change to reflect taxes, the cost of providing the service or changes to the services included. We will honour your paid year and give at least 30 days’ notice of a price change, or longer where the store or law requires it. The notice will state the reason, the old and new prices, the date the change takes effect and how to cancel. We will obtain any required consent. You can stop renewal before the change without a cancellation fee.

Cancellation. Use the account you bought with. On iPhone, go to Settings > your name > Subscriptions, select TrekMeet and choose Cancel Subscription. On Google Play, go to Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions, select TrekMeet and choose Cancel subscription. Cancel before renewal to avoid the next charge; Apple may charge during the preceding 24 hours. Cancellation stops renewal and keeps your access until the end of the period you paid for. Deleting the app or your TrekMeet account does not itself cancel billing.

Refunds and consumer rights. Request an Apple refund at reportaproblem.apple.com. For a Google Play purchase, request a refund through Google Play or contact support@trekmeet.com. You can also contact us for Explorer faults or help with your consumer rights. Cancellation alone does not automatically give a refund. If a purchase is refunded, the corresponding access may end. Nothing in this section limits your remedies under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable law.

Promotional access. The first 11,000 eligible TrekMeet app accounts created before 00:00 on 8 November 2026, Australian Eastern Daylight Time (AEDT, Sydney time), qualify for Explorer free for their first year, from 8 November 2026 to 7 November 2027 inclusive. Accounts are counted in order of account creation, including existing accounts. Accounts created on 7 November 2026 can qualify while places remain. Signing up for website emails does not create an app account or qualify for this offer.

No payment or payment method is required for this promotional access. It does not renew automatically or convert to a paid subscription. From 8 November 2027, you may choose to subscribe at the price then shown in the App Store or Google Play. You will not be charged unless you choose to purchase a subscription.

Accounts that qualified under the offer before this limit was published keep their promised access.

TrekMeet Pty Ltd may close this offer to new accounts early by publishing a notice on its website. Accounts that already qualify keep their promised access. Promotional Explorer access may be revoked where there is reasonable evidence of fraud or deliberate abuse of the offer. All other provisions of these Terms remain unchanged.

7. Termination

You are free to stop using our Service at any time. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you are found to be in breach of these Terms.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties & Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided on an “as is” basis. While we strive to build the best platform possible, TrekMeet makes no warranties regarding the reliability, availability, or accuracy of the Service. To the fullest extent permitted by law, TrekMeet shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of the Service.

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable law that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted, or modified. Where liability can lawfully be limited, TrekMeet’s liability is limited, at its option, to resupplying the relevant service or paying the cost of resupply.

9. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
