TrekMeet Community Guidelines
TrekMeet is where people organise real days outdoors. These guidelines exist so every member — from a first-time walker to a leader with hundreds of hikes behind them — can trust the people they meet here.
Be yourself.
Use your real identity. Don’t impersonate another person, group, or organisation.
Look out for each other.
No harassment, bullying, or hate. Disagreeing is fine; targeting a person is not.
Keep each other safe.
Safety tools are for real situations — don’t misuse SOS or live tracking. Share honest trail information, don’t pressure anyone beyond their limits, and don’t promote closed or illegal tracks.
Keep it decent.
Post what you’d happily show the whole group at the trailhead. No sexual, graphic, or violent content.
Keep it honest.
No spam, scams, or bulk self-promotion. Organising and sharing your own events is what TrekMeet is for — flooding other people’s spaces isn’t.
Reporting, and what happens next.
You can report a profile, group, event, or message from its own screen. A person reviews every report, usually within a day. Depending on what we find, we may remove content, warn, suspend, or permanently close an account, and serious safety matters may be referred to authorities. If you believe we got it wrong, reply to the outcome notice and we’ll take a second look.
New groups are reviewed.
Every new group is looked over by a person before it opens — usually within a day.
