Katoomba to Ruined Castle Return

An incredibly scenic hike into the heart of the Blue Mountains, rewarding hikers with historic mining heritage and sweeping panoramas. The trek begins with views of the iconic Three Sisters before descending the steep and scenic Furber Steps into the valley. The journey then follows the beautiful Federal Pass Walking Track out to the Ruined Castle rock formation—keep an eye out for blooming waratahs if you are walking during spring! The return journey involves a steep, challenging climb back up via the Golden Stairs, bringing you back to the Three Sisters with options to walk to the station or catch local transport.
